Sunday Times

Sunday is the day for New York Times editorial big-wigs to strut their stuff. Here's what Thomas Friedman (of The World is Flat in case you don't know who he is) has to say about how America's changed since September 11, 2001:

Hey Sapana,

I read that article earlier and thought it offered a refreshing perspective from the hogwash I see whenever I have the misfortune of watching CNN or FoxNews. Writing that last sentence reminded me that one of the professors, Will Fleeson, who collaborates with my advisor maintains a running total of the civilian deaths in Iraq. Every morning after arriving to this office he pulls up the latest count, writes it on a sticky note, and then pastes it to a large bulletin board outside our lab.

On a more exciting note, your blog has rekindled by desire to publish my thoughts online. However, they will unfortunately focus mostly on research articles I read and my general disdain for the current state of statistical analysis within the social sciences.

Best,
Keith
